Every rate, in public

What it costs, all of it

Almost no venue in this province publishes a number. Here is the whole list — the rental, the equipment, and the two things we charge by the head. CAD, before 5% GST.

We do not set up and we do not decorate

We do not set rooms, decorate, or rent decor. You get the building, the tables and chairs, and the kitchen; you decorate it however you like, and we will point you at the people who do it for a living.

There is no decor to rent here, no drape to hang and no crew to set your tables. What there is: the building, the tables and chairs, the dishes, the kitchen and the gazebo, from seven in the morning until midnight, with nobody standing over you. The people who do the rest are ten minutes away.

Decor and rentals: Let's Celebrate Rentals — where to get the things we do not have: linens, backdrops, arches, centrepieces, lighting.

Hall rental

The base charge, and the only thing everybody pays. Every rate below buys the whole building for the day — tables, chairs, dishes, the kitchen, the gazebo and the parking are in it.

  • Weekday, Monday to Thursday

The whole building, 7 AM to midnight, for five hundred dollars. Seminars, fowl suppers, showers, funeral lunches, reunions and AGMs all book this one.

    $500

  • Friday or Sunday

The same hall and the same hours as a Saturday, two hundred and fifty dollars less. Sunday afternoons get the west light off the field.

    $1,000

  • Saturday

7 AM to midnight on the busiest day of the week. Room for 200, with 180 sitting down comfortably for a plated supper.

    $1,250

  • The whole weekend, Friday to Sunday

Three full days for the price of two, and the late hours on Saturday night cost nothing. Decorate Friday, get married Saturday, load out Sunday in daylight instead of at one in the morning.

    $2,500

Every rate runs 7 AM to midnight. There is no half day and no hourly block.

The weekend arithmetic

Friday, Saturday and Sunday booked one at a time come to $3,250. The weekend is $2,500.

That is $750 back, and the late hours on the Saturday night are in it rather than $200 on top. Decorate Friday, get married Saturday, load out Sunday in daylight.

The gazebo at Bristol Event Centre lit with warm bulbs at dusk

The 12 × 28 ft gazebo comes with the hall. It is not a line on the invoice.

No charge

What the rental already includes

None of this is an upsell. It is in the building and it comes with the day.

  • The whole building, 7 AM to midnight — not a block inside someone else's day
  • Tables and chairs for up to 200
  • Dishes and cutlery
  • Full kitchen: two fridges, stove, microwave, and a commercial dishwasher that runs a two-minute wash and rinse
  • Coffee maker and serving thermos
  • The 12 × 28 gazebo for an outdoor ceremony
  • On-site parking, overnight included, at no charge
The 12 × 28 ft gazebo in daylight, with lattice sides and a cedar deck

A roofed, lattice-sided gazebo on a cedar deck, strung with warm bulbs. It means an outdoor ceremony that does not get called off at noon because of the forecast — at minimum the wedding party stays dry.

Per booking

Equipment and services you can add

Things we own and rent out. Each one sits on top of a hall rental, and you take only what you want.

  • Bar

The rolling bar, wheeled out to wherever you want it and backed onto the kitchen pass-through so whoever is pouring is not cut off from the room. You bring the drinks and the permit.

    $80/ day

  • Stage

A raised platform for the band, the DJ, the head table or the speeches — worth it the moment you have 180 people sitting down and somebody at the back who needs to see.

    $80/ day

  • Projector, Screen & PA System

Ceiling projector, drop-down screen, a wireless handheld mic, and house sound over 3.5 mm or Bluetooth. The line every seminar, AGM and slideshow-at-a-memorial adds.

    $125

  • Late-Night Extension to 1 AM

The rental runs to midnight; this holds the building to 1 AM. It costs nothing on the Saturday of a whole-weekend booking — that one is already included.

    $200

  • After-Event Cleaning

Floors, kitchen, washrooms and bins the morning after. Without it the hall has to be left as you found it — which on a wedding night means somebody's uncle mopping at two in the morning.

    $250

The bar and the stage are charged per day booked, so a whole-weekend booking that wants the bar on all three days pays for three.

The rolling bar set up in the hall
The bar wheels to wherever you want it — $80 a day.
The rolling bar backed onto the kitchen pass-through
Backed onto the pass-through, so whoever is pouring is still in the room.
The ceiling projector and drop-down screen set up for a presentation
Projector, screen, mic and house sound — $125.

Per guest

The two things we charge by the head

Coffee, and coffee again later. That is the whole list — we do not sell food.

  • Coffee & Tea Service

Urn coffee, tea, cream and sugar topped up from your first guest to your last, with a thermos left on each table. Around here the coffee runs out before the food does.

    $2.75/ guest

  • Late-Night Coffee & Squares

A fresh coffee run and a tray of squares put out around ten for the crowd who stay to the end. There is no point holding the building to 1 AM with an empty urn.

    $4.50/ guest

Charged on the headcount you confirm the week before, not on your invitation list.

A worked example

A Saturday wedding for 150

So the numbers above turn into something you can hold against another quote.

Saturday hall rental, 7 AM to midnight$1,250
Bar, one day$80
Stage, one day$80
Late-night extension to 1 AM$200
Coffee & tea, 150 × $2.75$412.50
Late-night coffee & squares, 150 × $4.50$675
After-event cleaning$250
Subtotal$2,947.50
GST 5%$147.38
Total$3,094.88

$20.63 a head for the room, the bar, the stage, the late hours, the coffee and the cleanup. Food, drink, flowers, music, photography and everything you hang on the walls are not ours to sell you and are not in this number.

The rules

What you pay when, and the one permit you need

There is nothing else in the fine print. These four are the fine print.

Deposit
A $500 damage deposit books the date. It is returned within 2–3 weeks after the event if the building is undamaged.
Balance
The balance is due one week before the event.
Liquor permit
You obtain your own Social Occasion Liquor Permit from the LGCA. We will tell you which type you need and when to apply.
Cleaning
The hall is left as you found it, or you add After-Event Cleaning for $250 and we do it the morning after.

About the money

Questions on price

Is this the whole price?

It is every rate we have. A booking is one hall rental plus whichever add-ons you want, and nothing else is charged. GST at 5% goes on the total, and a $500 refundable damage deposit holds the date.

Do you set the room up or decorate it?

We do not set rooms, decorate, or rent decor. You get the building, the tables and chairs, and the kitchen; you decorate it however you like, and we will point you at the people who do it for a living. The first call is usually Let's Celebrate Rentals at letscelebraterentals.com.

Is there a half day, or an hourly rate?

No. One rate buys the whole building from 7 AM to midnight, and there is no clock running while your family carries tables. A weekday is $500, which is the cheapest way into this room.

Is the weekend rate actually cheaper?

Yes. Friday, Saturday and Sunday booked separately come to $3,250. The weekend rate is $2,500, so you save $750, and the late hours on the Saturday are included rather than $200 on top.

Are the per-guest services charged on my final headcount?

Yes, on the number you confirm the week before, not on your invitation list. A guest who does not come is not a cup of coffee we poured.

Is there a food and beverage minimum?

No. We do not sell food or alcohol, so there is nothing for us to set a minimum on. Bring any caterer you like, including family.

When do I pay?

A $500 damage deposit books the date. It is returned within 2–3 weeks after the event if the building is undamaged. The balance is due one week before the event.

Every number on this page is in the quote builder.

Put in your date and headcount and it does the arithmetic, adds the GST, and emails you the result.
